Where was all this fellow hatred of the first movie back in 2007, anyway? I sometimes felt like I was the only person on Earth who couldn't stand it. Then when the reviews for the second one started pouring in and everyone was screaming about how bad it was I was like "this is what I said the first time, I almost feel vindicated now, geez."

The second one was much more negatively perceived than the first one, critically. As far as public opinion, I haven't really followed it enough to comment on that as after the first one I simply did not take part in many discussions about it due to not caring.
