It just died kinda, and I want to trade it in. It leaves disk burns, wont read dvd movies, etc. It plays ps2 discs until it scratches them too much. Lost clock tower 3 like that. I'm going to clean it up all shiny like and get some credit. What am I looking to get? I have that 5% trade in card too. ty

you think? It plays ps1 games fine without scratches. But it leaves those perfect circle scratches on the ps2 games, and wont play movies. You think compressed air will work, or what should i do?

With how much they're selling for now I'd say $25 in store credit or $18.95 in cash. Who knows.

Slims get things stuck in there a lot. If you could open it up and clean the laser it would help. The laser could be misaligned as well if it gets knocked around, if that's the case you can't really fix it with compresses air.

well, they sell slim for 60, fat for 50. maybe 30 if so? seems good, Im gonna send my 10 yr old cousin to trade it in, in case stuff goes down.

wouldnt i have to open the ps2? that would force me to remove the warranty sticker if so.. they might not let me trade it like that. What should I use to clean it if I take this route? just a normal shirt and rubbing alcohol?

You're vastly overestimating the return they get on PS2's. I wouldn't expect any more than $20.

I wonder what percentage of consoles sold to them are broken. My friend sold his 360 that always died after ten minutes of power. They plugged it in, tested it for one minute, and gave him his cash. Seems too easy.

true, hmmmm =/ this sux. I just repurchased silent hill 2 and kingdom hearts 2 a week ago... guess ill take the route of selling my 320 ps3 and getting a 60gb. All in one is better.
