In the case, it would have required seeing the video before they could actually mark me, and that requires much more effort than just reading a few lines of text. My odds of evasion were much higher, but THERE IS SOME INEXPLICABLE FORCE OUT THERE that draws our finger to the stupid "b" and the stupid "7" for an ever stupid "b7" combo.

You guys complain about the mods? COMPLAIN ABOUT YOURSELVES.

Let me explain what just happened

- I make a topic about videos of black women fighting
- My first post is nothing more than a link to some video on some site
- Before marking this, someone (especially a weirdo mark whore) needs to view the video first
- Since there is nothing inherently modable in the topic title or text, my odds of evasion go up
- They go up CUZ clicking on a link and watching a video take more time and effort than just reading a post
- Someone watches the video and posts "b7"
- They have essentially poured chum in a shark tank
- piman SMELLS THE TOPIC NOW
- he was asleep, he sensed it, and got his ass outta bed to mark it
- we lose a good topic

Possibly, but consider: do you know how many times I've broken the spoiler rules in my Chrono Trigger and FFVI playthrough topics? Those topics have gone on for over a thousand posts without a single moderation. I've broken spoiler warnings in, hell, 50 individual posts? Every one of those was moddable according to the ToU. None of them were touched. Why? Cuz people like me? NO. It's because those posts didn't bring any unwanted attention with "b7" and "oh man spoiler warnings, watch out for that even though everyone here has played this game."

And you know what's gonna happen now? My FFVI topic is gonna get marked and probably modded. Because I just brought attention to it, just to prove a point.

I'm the stupidest mouse of all.

Also, even a delay is better than nothing. I could have posted two, three more videos with a delay. I was thinking of YOU.

I agree, a very fair point. However, when nothing is immediately noticeably as ToU-breaking, then I think the odds of getting away with it - or at least keeping the topic around longer - are gonna increase. A marking weirdo would have still had to watch the video; maybe he would not have cared to do so.
