But that's already been announced. All the same, I could see them doing a proper breakthrough opening for it. It will make lots of people excited even though a bunch more will rage because it was technically already announced.

Pokemon, DQ, and Smash all come to mind with this. they're already Zelda'd out, they'll show off Mario Kart and Mario 3DS. and if this is 3DS related, those 3 series all have something that can easily work for it (DQX can always be Wii/3DS, Pokemon Grey could be 3DS, and we know Smash is being worked on but nothing more - a legit showing could work out for that).

Yeah, it won't be smash; already announced, and it's not even much of a shocker. Same with "OMG, Nintendo's making a Pokemon/Mario game? I never would have guessed." I feel like it almost has to be a third party game or big third party collaboration.

DQ makes a lot of sense to me, and something they would gloat about. They might also gloat if they got like...MGS5 or RE6 or FF15.

Judging by a rumor (some of which has proven true), this is might end up being Monster Hunter Tri 3DS, with Vita getting MH3rd HD at its launch. Alternatively, it could be something tangible about DQX. Those are the best bets right now.
