Got Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando (never got my copy back from a friend many many years ago), Ace Combat 5 (though they also had Zero, but I didn't know where it fit in the series; should I go back and exchange it?), Mercenaries 2: World in Flames, and .hack Mutation.

Anybody want to recommend me games? I didn't get a PS2 until way later than everyone else and don't have any current gen stuff so I definitely missed out some things.

Stuff I'm interested in and will be looking for:

Shadow of the Colossus
Alpha Anthology
FFX-2

I'd hold off on Shadow of the Colossus. The HD Remake is coming out in a couple months with ICO so unless you don't have a PS3 I'd wait.

But yeah, Final Fantasy X, X-2, XII and the Kingdom Hearts.

Checked out one of my stores today, couple Q's for anyone who has played these:

How are SMT: Digital Devil Saga and SMT: Nocturne?

Should I get Persona 3: FES if I own the original P3? This one in particular pisses me off, since this past weekend after years of not seeing this anywhere I found P3 at a mom-and-pop shop for $10. Then this sale happens and suddenly Gamestop has FES going for $30.

The only other game I saw that I need is Fatal Frame III, and that's an insta-purchase, just need 3 games to go with it.

I don't have a PS3 but am planning to get one soon. I'm starting to think I should skip this Gamestop deal...

Nocturne is fantastic and imo the best SMT on the PS2. there's disagreement to that title, but it really is one of the best RPGs on the system and well worth it.

Digital Devil Saga 1 is kinda underrated among the SMT fans in that it's liked but put low in the equation because the sequel is when things really hit the fan. it's basically the first half of a two part game, with the development being the characters more so than the story (partially because the characters ARE the story at this point). the sequel does story since the characters are now defined and ties things together.

FES isn't a bad pick either since only FES has The Answer, which is standalone and i don't think you have to play the main game to play it.

I almost got Nocturne too but decided against it. There was also some Atlus game I was looking at, it was something Poison. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Yeah, the last couple of times I've been to Gamestop, their PS2 collection has been rather lackluster.

I'll check it out sometime before the sale ends, but I'm not really all that optimistic.

It was a bit of a hassle, but I ended up getting Nocturne, Fatal Frame III and both Digital Devil Sagas. One store had DDS 2 while another had the remaining three, but I still ended up getting the deal!

Just check it out online. They have most ps2 games in stock. I got lucky and was able to find quite a few niche jrpgs that I'd never imagine I would find in the store
