It's a completely different game with different stages. Classic Sonic will still be classic Sonic, but modern sonic will play more like the Sonic Rush games.

does anyone know yet exactly what stages the 3DS version will have? I know it has Green Hill Zone just like the console version as well as Mushroom Hill Zone. Don't know about any others though.

Will modern Sonic be switching between screens like he did in Rush?

If they contain him to one screen, I might have another game to justify a purchase of the 3DS. Of course, the one game that will absolutely MAKE me buy the 3DS doesn't come out until who the f*** knows when. So it'll probably be a damn while before I get a 3DS, hopefully the 4th or 5th model will be out by then.

modern does seem to be confined to just the top screen

which would make sense since you can't do 3D on both screens

Wow, actually watching the video, modern Sonic actually looks really awesome on the 3DS, sweet. Would probably look better if whoever was playing it had a little practice before recording.

Sonic Generations without the Sonic Unleashed "Day Sections" sounds fantastic to me

I just cannot enjoy behind-the-back Sonic, wayyyy too much focus on speed, not enough focus on actual platforming.


I'm really not planning on buying Generations since I just don't like behind-the-back Sonic. I've been considering the 3DS version since it doesn't have that, but I always have the impression that portable versions are just cheap knockoffs. This looks good though but I'm still not sure. I guess I'll wait and see how it reviews.

Man how can you not like that intense speed, it's so awesome. I don't like it when the game gets into heavy platforming aspects, it just slows down too much and I have trouble controlling Sonic at a slow pace.

It's all just speed for the sake of speed, really boring in the gameplay aspect. Everything just feels the exact same in behind-the-back, so it's really not that intense.
