My Score
9.5 - Easily my favorite 2D FF game. So many likeable characters (esp. Celes and Edgar) and an awesome villain. What I like about FF6 the most is the way magic is learned and how you can increase your stats through equipping Espers after each level up.
FF6 is also my 2nd favorite SNES game behind only Super Mario World.

Rock n' Roll and Glam Metal... It never died

A great game hindered from being a masterpiece by an overload of characters (giving some the shaft) and some questionable character development for the lead character later on. Not a huge fan of the way magic is learned either, actually; micromanagement for proper stat growth really disrupts the flow of battle for relative perfectionists such as I.

The beginning is okay.

The cast is too big and there's not really a main focus. The second half of the game is absolutely terrible.

The first great Final Fantasy and still one of the best. Relics and magicite are both great, the world of ruin is fantastic, and the story is enjoyable. I do have a few minor complaints - it starts off very slowly and I wish I didn't need a specific relic to run, but this is still a very impressive game.
