You'd be surprised. Last weekend I drove to Mt. Pleasant to help my brother move into CMU, and on the way back to Kalamazoo I got lost. I stopped at a gas station to ask for directions, and the all the clerk said was "Wait, I've lived here all my life and I've never heard of Kalamazoo, you sure you're not yanking my chain?"

Pretty thoroughly. They even tested the pop I was drinking! It was kinda embarrassing having them open up my suitcase and find two DJ Hero controllers sitting on top though thankfully the guy actually knew what the f*** they were.

Now the weird part was that I actually went through Airport Security fine the first time. Took off my shoes, took out my laptop, stuff went through the scanner. All normal. It wasn't until half an hour later that they decided to pull me off to the side and do this. And it was right when my flight started boarding.

Damn. I think that story might have scared me straight. I was thinking of bringing some stuff on a flight from Seattle to Vegas, but I don't think it's worth the risk anymore. I honestly didn't even know that random baggage searches happened. Anyone know if this is just a USA thing?
