If the World Martial Arts tournament was limited to pure martial artists, AKA nobody that can fly or use ki attacks, Yajirobe would beat the **** out of everyone with ease.
I remember watching Dragonball for the first time awhile after I watched DBZ, and being ****ing dumbfounded when Goku and Yajirobe fought to a standstill. Had a soft spot for Yajirobe ever since.
No, he can't fly. Or if he can he chooses not to for whatever reason. He was flying off in one of Bulma's capsule helicopter things and got shot down by the Androids.
I can't speak for the manga, but he never flies in the anime.
EDIT: A quick check of the Dragon Ball wiki confirms that he can't fly. He probably could learn, but he uses it as an excuse not to fight.
Tien > Krillin > Yamcha >> Chiaotzu > Yajirobe >>>>> Videl > Hercule
At the end of DBZ, probably.
And yeah, Yajirobe was on par with Goku during his introduction. If he was more serious about training, he might've been one of the strongest humans! Funny that he accomplished more than Yamcha ever did, though.

"I wanted to change the world, too. But I changed nothing. That is my story."
Is Hercule really below Yajirobe? Yajirobe barely did anything other than cut Vegeta's tail with a sword, Hercule punched through a bus and avoided being blasted more than a few feet when he was on the edge of a blast from Cell (he was the only normal human not to be blasted off by Cell's attacks in the tournament).

Hercule's durability is purely comic relief. His strength/combat feats are well below Yajirobe.

From his looks Magus is Macho Man Randy Savage as an anime zombie. The black wind howls, and one of you will snap into a Slim Jim ooh yeeeah! -sonicblastpunch
Yajirobe also killed Cymbal while Cymbal could barley hurt him. Tambourine killed nearly all the martial artists in the world and Cymbal wasn't much weaker. Also stalemating Goku makes him stronger than Krillin and Tao who would stomp Hercule.

Probabaly the fact Yamcha was beating up Olibu, the same guy that gave Pikkon a good fight, in those filler episodes when the group was training in the other world.
BoshStrikesBack posted... 2) I've personally disowned the Buu saga (DBZ Kai baby!), so I'm curious: would Tien > Krillin still hold?
Not sure. I think so. Krillin was already being mostly ineffective by the Androids Saga, while Tien and his Tri Beams managed to neutralize Cell's second stage for a decent amount of time until Goku intervened. Granted, Tien would've ended up killing himself before Cell would even get the chance if he'd had to stall much longer, but I don't remember Krillin even being able to do that much so I'm giving the edge to Tien. But that's just speculation.

Ulti (in one of his Post-Contest Analyses): God of War turned a 5 hour deadlock into a total laugher Anagram: Oh God, Tidus and Yuna were involved?
Well it's commonly accepted that Krillin is stronger than Tien during the Cell saga, it's one of the main reasons some people think that Krillin perhaps is stronger than Tien end series because people were under the wrong impression about Tien after Cell was killed and the filler line "I have no reason to train" or w.e(aside from the whole Yamcha statement).
So people assumed that they both slacked during those years, thus the statement Krillin > Tien held water, because Krillin was strong than Tien in the Cell saga. It really just goes back to Krillin getting the Guru boost, and Tien not. From there on till Cell appeared, they did about the same amount of training, but Krillin would stay on top because of the Guru boost.
It's just, in my personal opinion at the Buu saga and end series that Tien is stronger because Tien had no reason to stop training, because he was never shown that he actually did, unlike Krillin who settled down and became a family man.
From: JaKyL25 | #069 ...so basically, until Raditz showed up, Mr. Popo was the strongest being Earth had ever seen?
I find it amusing that Popo could have obliterated King Piccolo if he chose to.
The only thing I know about Popo's power level is that he was stronger than Goku the first time they met (which is when he was killed by Piccolo I guess).
I'm pretty sure the unnamed Namekian that split into Kami and Piccolo was stronger than him though.
Oh definitely. The strongest Namekian of all, wasn't he? I think I remember that Namek old guy saying even a Super Saiyan would have problems against him.
My DBZ knowledge is a little flaky at this point, but wasn't Buu (and possibly Dabura) on Earth at one point in the past? So technically that would be the strongest pre-Raditz encounter.

I don't really remember. The strongest Namekian warrior (besides Piccolo) was Nail, who was only 41,000, and from what I understand he was a ****load stronger than any of the other Namekians (since Dodoria and Zarbon killed all of them with ease and Nail would have one-shotted both of them). SSJ Goku was 150,000...I'm not sure I can buy the unnamed Namekian being that strong. Maybe 50,000.

Technically I guess. I'm not really sure how Buu's egg ended up on Earth of all places. Dabura lived in the Demon Realm up until Babidi recruited him. But yeah, technically Buu is the strongest being on Earth (and in the universe) throughout all of Dragonball and Z, but he's hibernating.
According to the Dragon Ball wiki, the Nameless Namekian could have easily killed Freiza apparently. Grand Elder was alive when he was, so he would know I guess.
