I read the GameSpot review which may or may not mean jack s*** but it sounded OK. Looked cool. Not real thrilled with how they pointed out you need to have a basic knowledge of the context to enjoy the story. I mean, I do possess said basic knowledge but I'd rather they tried to make the story more genuinely cohesive.

But it's just some review, it might be amazing.

Of all the critics that have reviewed El Shaddai, I trust 1UP the most and they gave it a B. However, I'm still always wary of mixed reviews. I was wondering if anyone 'round hur got it.

Yeah, play the demo. I'm not sure what you mean about "super artistic" games, though. It has a very distinct art style, but the gameplay is pure action with some platforming segments.
