Definitely would go back to my 12 year old self and inform him on how to be a success with some invention that hadn't been thought up yet (possibly a time machine, ha). Then I would go win the lottery for my rents with a set of pre-ordained numbers.

Betting on the Sox to take the World Series in 2004 when they were 3-0 vs the Yankees in the ALCS had some kind of ridiculously high odds like 1:50, IIRC. But yeah the lottery route sounds way smarter/easier.

Came into the topic with that in mind, but after thinking about it more, I have to one-up you. Game 7. Game 6 may be the memorable moment, but Game 7 was winning the World Series.

It'd be much easier to travel to the future and grab a bunch of records of winning lottery numbers, then pick the one that has the biggest prize that's coming up in the near future. I imagine going to the past and picking the numbers for the lottery and getting the payout in a day would not be feasible.
