... compared to the general populace. I was at work tonight with two pretty geeky dudes (they're both into D&D-ish stuff - one of them creates games and scenarios for their group of guys to play and most Saturday nights they get together to drink beer and play*) and we started talking about video games. Things that I knew about that they didn't:

- How the Kinect works and the cool stuff schools like MIT have done with it
- What ROB the Robot is, and the rarity of finding a working one
- The WiiU
- Wii+ and Playstation Move
- What Nintendo did before they got into making video games
- That the kid in The Wizard couldn't have gotten as many points in Double Dragon as the movie shows
- The rarity of Stadium Events
- The proportions of male v. female WoW players (I think...)
- FFXIV's failure
- Killer Instinct
- Blast Corps
- The N64DD
- The Virtual Boy

There's probably some stuff that I'm missing, but frankly I was surprised by how much more I - and by extension, you guys - know about gaming than nearly everybody, even the nerdier groups. I somehow felt nerdier than these D&D guys XFD

*Side note: This actually sounds like it'd be fun. They don't do high fantasy stuff, and instead will play games based in The Godfather universe, or in the Cowboy Bebop universe, or in H.P. Lovecraft's universe(s). Would I be totally out of my element if I played with them sometime? I've literally never done anything with RP games like that.

Yes, you would be, but it'd still probably be pretty fun and you might even want to make it a more regular thing if you find it somewhat enjoyable and have a good group of people to do it with.*

*Side note: I've never done something like this before.
