If you're talking about chain pizza then yeah thin crust is usually an inferior option.

Una pizza though is so damn good.

Depends on the kind.

Oven cooked thin crust gets greasy and gross.

Donatos thin crust is delicious.

If you have to go to Italy to have good thin crust pizza, what good does that do you, unless you're going to live there? Wouldn't that just accentuate the problem when you return home and all the thin crust pizza there is bad?

I will say this:

Thin crust is not inherently bad, but it is not given justice at a vast majority of pizza places.

They don't make it well enough and so it is not enjoyable to eat whereas it is almost impossible to screw up a normal pizza. Unless you are somewhere that specializes in thin crust pizzas I think you are more likely to get a quality pizza by ordering it normally.

Even with that said I think I would prefer a quality normal pizza to a quality thin crust pizza. But I can see the appeal and so thin-eaters are not weird.

Thick is pretty awful. Here's why

90% of it is cheese.

If I wanted to eat a chunk of cheese I'd go out and buy a chunk of cheese and then eat it.

The sauce is my favorite part of ALL PIZZAS. Most of the time all you can taste is CHEESE with thick pizzas >=(

Wait what

Thick and thin is referring to the crust, it has little to do with the cheese. If anything a thick crust is better because it improves the bread to cheese ratio.

Because I would agree that excessive cheese is the worst thing ever for pizza.

Ah, okay. Still, lots of thick pizza I've had ends up having a decent proportion of toppings, crust and sauce and seems to most often have the most tolerable cheese level. Normal amounts of cheese applied to a thin crust pizza usually feels excessive, though.

But I accept that I could just be getting lucky with my pizza!
