It's a love story between two kindred souls. They live life to the fullest, while learning about themselves and their bodies.
Favourite object: The ice cube.
09. Mitsudomoe
Moe slice of life anymeh about a middle school. There are misunderstandings everywhere, and it can get funny(but also tiring too).
Favourite Gag: Nipples, the hamster.
08. Kara no Kyoukai
It's got good art, animation and moe characters. Also, it's grimdark and I love grimdark.
However, they have a tendency to ramble on about concepts that I don't care about. Listen, I don't care. Just give me Shiki being BA.
Favourite Abstract Concept: Shiki's ability to see death.
07. Darker than Black - Season 01
I enjoyed the first season a lot. Hei, the main character, is an assassin. He has to juggle his work life with his fake life in order to efficiently kill stuff.
Favourite Remuneration: Nomming Burgers.
06. One Outs
It's about a pitcher, named Takuchi, who plays mind geimus. He's also incredibly sexy, according to the OP.
It's very interesting seeing him go against some of the minor league's best teams.
There's some engrish in here, and it's funny.
Favourite engrish: There's a team named, "The Bugabees" but it's pronounced, "BUG AH BOOO"
5. Birdy the Mighty Decode
This anime is so fun, and I really like the dub. It's a mixup of Sci Fi, Slice of Life and Action. It works pretty well tbqh.
Also, I want to be the genderswapping high schooler.
Favourite alien: The one menter robot that follows Birdy around.
4. Legend of the Galactic Heroes
There is a plethra of interesting characters and plot lines in this animu, and they get weaved together to make one of my favourites OF ALL TIME.
Yang Wenli, the drunk strategist. Reinhard, the noble with a chip on his shoulder. They face each other in manly naval combat...in space.
Favourite character: Yang Wenli
3. Steins;Gate
I know what you are thinking. "It's still airing! How can it be in your top ten list?"
Simply, it's because of Hououin Kyouma. He trolls hot women and somehow forms a harem because of it.
Favourite moe girl: Suzu
2. Kino's Journey
The MC travels around to many country to learn about them. MAL describes it as Cooler than Zero, and I cant help but agree.
Favourite Society: The one that worked on the train tracks.
1. Aria
This anime has it all. Moe characters, nice music, nice backgrounds(looking at you, Bleach), and an interesting plot.
It's also very relaxing. You can go from angsty to feelgood in just 5 mins.
My lack of having actually seen any of these is my fault. But your lack of FMA:B is inexcusable.

I have several problems with Brotherhood, which include pacing, the damned 'comedic' chibi moments, and how they skimped out on material that was already covered in the first anime.
It's good, but far from what I consider to be great.

Ok, yeah. The chibi moments were a little much, but they got toned down in the second half. The second half also didn't feel so rushed.
Then again, I did watch the first half of FMA before watching FMA:B, so that might have something to do with it. I just liked Brotherhood's story better.
So, what was wrong with the other seasons of Darker Than Black? I noticed you only put season 1 up there.

The "genre" just generally involves a lot of cute girls doing things that are cute. Besides magical girl stuff, it's the kind of thing normal people look at and go "omg anime why." It's also all the rage these days.
The main issue, I find, that people have with the moe wave is that it's kind of shallow, and sometimes boring (less action) than shows people grew up with. A lot of anime fans are cut from Shonen/90s classics. It's kind of similar to what people deal with when thinking of like SNES/PS1 (JRPG/2D Platformers/fighters/etc) and then look at the current big genres (WRPG/Shooters)
Can't say I don't like moe because of less action. I also wouldn't put most shonens on my list. I like things like Azumanga and Haruhi, but they're funny and interesting respectively!
