I love apocalypse stuff like this. It's interesting to see what happens to stuff when there's no human involvement. Definitely gonna pick up the blu-ray boxsets of this as soon as I'm able.

I have a major problem with the series/special though; it shouldn't be called "Life After People". It should be called "What If Everyone On Earth Disappeared Without a Trace Today?". Because there's a severe lack of corpses in that show.

I think they said in the first episode that they weren't going to deal with the 'how' of humans disappearing, just what happens afterwards.

I'm almost positive, that at the beginning of every episode the narrator says something to that affect.

"What if everyone on Earth suddenly disappeared?!"

Something close to that. I have only seen like 3 episodes, but this is what I remember.
