my old oven would beep at me when it hit the right temperature and show the current temp on the LCD

tried the oven at the new house and asked one of my roommates how to tell if it was done preheating and he looked at me like I was nuts

i have seen ovens both using a beep or just having a light that indicates preheating is done

Also I personally don't preheat, I just leave my stuff in the oven longer.

Preheated is a meaningless ****ing term. There are only two states the oven could possibly be in, HEATED or UNHEATED!
