Ulala has challenged Diablo to a "Space Channel 5 esqued dance off." Who will win?

Guidelines

- The fight will occur in real-time (like an FMV sequence). Gameplay mechanics are less important than how the characters would function in a real-time environment.

- The members of each team are ideal teammates capable of a pre-selected plan of battle.

- "Broken" refers to a lot of things, including insta-death, auto-effects, a variety of status effects (e.g., Imp, Silence, Stop, *not* Poison), and revival. Unless stated otherwise, nobody has them, though do use your own discretion.

- There may be SPOILERS from all of the games the characters are from.



Rules for Voting

- Bold your votes (using <b> and </b>).

- Provide a justification for why you think the selected team would win. Fanboy logic, ignoring character assumptions or rules, and vague or unintelligible justifications are all grounds for having your vote disqualified.

- If you want to switch your votes simply bold the change; there's no need to delete your post, though you may if you wish.

- This match will end when one side reaches 7 votes, or in 6 hours, whichever comes first.



ulala is as she appears in space channel 5.

Diablo is as he appears at the end of Diablo 2, with all of his various attacks.

If you glance at this match and don’t think about it, you’ll instantly dismiss Diablo and laugh. However, this isn’t as clear cut as it appears – Ulala isn’t actually that good of a dancer. Her motions typically consist of shaking her arms… and that’s about it. Ulala also typically has an assortment of backup dancers supporting her when she faces something like this, which she doesn’t have here. Diablo is the lord of terror. Literally the scourge of the earth, a super powerful demon, and the guy can move. Here’s a fun little gif that shows off a small portion of his movement range:



Ulala has never faced anything as mind bogglingly scary as The Lord of Terror Himself. If anything is going to throw someone off their game, it’s that. Diablo also hates losing. He’s got very good reflexes, which directly influence his dancing skills. He’ll feel no shame in “getting down and jiggy with it”, and is pretty damn imposing as he does so. A combination of Diablos mad skills, Ulalas Lackthereof, Ulalas choking at the sight of Diablo being competent, and Lack of support makes this a rather easy victory for Diablo here.

Ulala is a famous and well-loved dancer across the galaxy and, in fact, uses her dance powers to save the galaxy. In Space Channel 5, Captain Blank tries to brainwash and enslave humanity via an invasion of dancing aliens. Ulala has to defeat him and his minions by defeating them in a series of dance-offs. In the end, Blank tries to imprison Ulala in a pocket dimension, but she uses "dance energy" from one final dance-off to break free and send Blank to the other side of the universe. I couldn't make this stuff up.

Diablo is...Diablo.

Also I cannot imagine Diablo "getting down and jiggy with it," and for this I am thankful.

Diablo has lived for countless centuries. With that comes the knowledge of a lot of things, including dancing. If the lord of terror was to dance, he'd likely be very good at it.

Diablo has lived for countless centuries. With that comes the knowledge of a lot of things, including dancing.

If I lived for countless centuries, you can bet that I'd still suck at dancing at the end of it. >_>

Plus, he's facing off against a galaxy-wide pop star. You can't expect someone presumably new to dance to be able to pick it up instantly, especially against someone at the very top of the game.

And we all know, popularity does not mean you're good at a damn thing. Many famous people have thousands of fans but are complete ass at what they do. Perhaps Ulala is the best in her galaxy, but her galaxy consists of drakeryn-tier dancers

In Mercs, the combatants aren't normally given time to plan ahead of time like that, although admittedly it's a matter of interpretation.

If Diablo had "time to plan," Batman-style -- well, I still wouldn't see him being able to beat someone on Ulala's level. But much less in this kind of context, where he's just sort of hanging out with the rest of his teammates at the base and then -boom- he's yoinked away for a dance-off.

As one of the prime evils, I would assume Diablo is very good at enticing people. I'm sure he's had experience bringing boys to the yard for one reason or another, SEP.

I really do see Diablo having access to the souls of the underworld as long as he's himself. In d2, demons still followed him around despite being a crystal in the original hero's head. His very soul brought destruction and death in its wake because they were drawn to him. Now that he's freed, if he understands it's a dance off he'll either try to kill the dancer and say screw it, or he'll play by the rules, infuse himself with several hundred dancer souls and smoke her. That's the power Diablo has, it's his realm and he has full control over it. That's how I see it.

Is it his realm? I thought they were on a space station.

His soul being in the hero's head was proof enough his powers exist even when he's outside of his own territory.

Diablo's also possessed people, including adventurers and royalty. Who's to say he doesn't know about the royal banquets and whatnot, as well as the dancing that goes on in pubs?

See, this all seems like wild speculation, and very meta-gamey besides. All we have is you being "pretty sure" that he would be able to change his appearance to a human and extrapolating wildly from there.

Diablo gives no actual reason to believe he can dance. Nothing suggests he can, at all, and ESPECIALLY not on Ulala's level. You pretty much have to WANT Diablo to win to speculate some sort of reason that he can. ...Which is exactly what's going on in this topic, but I'm not falling for it.
