Beat the first dungeon. I have to say, I was thrilled when buying the Deku Stick capacity upgrade gave me 20 of them automatically.

Is it a hard glitch to pull off?

I wish there was a playthrough video of an OoT no sword run on youtube. That would be fun to watch.

Aren't there certain bosses you need to use your sword on?

I just played through that game on 3 hearts. It was pretty easy as I figured it'd be aside from stupid Morphla or whatever.

What? I thought Bongo Bongo was far harder. In fact that was probably the only place I died, and it was multiple times!

Let's see... Deku Sticks do more damage to all three kid bosses than the sword anyway. You can use a bottle to deflect Phantom Ganon's energy balls, and I guess you could use arrows to damage him after? Never tried, don't know. Megaton Hammer Volvagia obviously. Morpha, Megaton Hammer probably works. Bongo Bongo, hmm, I guess the Megaton Hammer would work against him too, same for Twinrova.

Apparently I don't know much about the Hammer's damage capacity. I know it usually does damage against everything, but I never tried using it on a boss when the sword was already the obvious choice.

Ah, it was the energy balls I was thinking of in particular. Never thought of using the bottle. But don't you have to use the sword for Ganon at the end of the game too? <.<

Wait you had trouble with Morpha?

Literally takes like 20-30 seconds to defeat. Hide in corner, Morpha can't touch you, hookshot the core when it comes near you, trap it in corner, hack away. Done.

For the last attack on Ganon, yeah. I assume that'll be the only exception. That's more of a cutscene anyway.

I did this run on the Gamecube version with Master Quest on it. It was actually really fun. A few things I learned:

-Doing a forest escape without a sword makes the start of the game very interesting
-Dead Hand seems impossible at first, but there's a trick to it
-As far as I know, Bongo Bongo is impossible to injure normally, so I used invisible deku sticks to help me along:
-Ganon takes a couple of legit sword strikes at the end, but these obviously don't count
-Deku sticks and the hammer will be your bread and butter

What forest escape?

And is Bongo Bongo really immune to the Megaton Hammer?

I think he means trying to leave Kokiri Forest without actually ever getting the Kokiri Sword.
It requires a glitch, unlike if you get the Sword and just opt not to use it, because Mido won't let you pass without both a sword and shield .

Well yeah, I figured it wouldn't be that big of a deal to just get the sword and not use it.

It took me a bit over an hour for this forest escape, but it was worth it:

I'm fairly certain that nothing outside of a sword, knife, or stick can beat Bongo Bongo. Also, lol @ "Sheesh!"

I used the glitch/oversight in LttP to stay with the level 1 sword. You can get around finishing the third light world dungeon/aghanim and go straight to the dark world from there.

But you need the item from the 3rd tower first.
