Pokemon Black/White Hotel Dusk: Room 215 Kirby SuperStar Ultra Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum Advance Wars: Dual Strike Pokemon Heartgold/Soulsilver Meteos Sonic Rush
Black/White has consistently done well and I don't expect it to slow down here. It seems to be the favourite Pokemon game by a good bit right now and should hurt D/P/P pretty bad.
Hotel Dusk has a lot of fanfare and could get a lot of +10 votes. Kirby, for whatever reason, is doing really well. Advance Wars could make some noise but there are four stronger games ahead of it. Heartgold probably suffers due to being a remake along with two other Pokemon games and Meteos/Sonic Rush are just out of their league.
Pretty crazy round. Pokemon came out hot, especially Black/White. I posted an update which caused people to stop supporting it in favour of the other Pokemon games. They took a lead until people started supporting Meteos, assumedly to knock out Pokemon. D/P and HG/SS settled into a dead tie, followed by D/P taking a 10 point lead and HG/SS coming right back with another +10. The end result is a tie.
We'll do a tiebreaker round at around 2pm EST to determine which Pokemon game advances. One hour long, straight tiebreaker, most votes wins.
Star of the Round: Sonic Rush. Seriously.
Turd of the Round: I dunno. Everyone did about as expected except for Meteos surprising and knocking out a Pokemon game. Which one? Who knows yet.
Pretty good results right there, although there's something that annoyed me about all the people giving points to all three Pokémon games and nothing else in a division with so many cool games in it. I love Pokémon and all but come onnnnn guys.
Though ultimately B/W really does deserve to be on top of the division even though I didn't vote for it.
Also good for Meteos. I gave it like no credit but it's more popular than I thought. Which is good, because it's an awesome game.
From: transience | #059 Pokemon DPP is now eliminated. I'm kind of surprised that a remake beat a game that absolutely took over this board in 2007, but whatever.
Excellent results, really. I think I would've preferred DPP to move on, but I can live with HG/SS. I'm just amazed that Meteos made the cut! As was said previously, I love that game, but I didn't think it'd have the popularity to make the cut.
Today's results, however, I don't see as having much of a chance to be so good.

+110 - Devil Survivor +93 - The World Ends With You +92 - Contra 4 +85 - Elite Beat Agents +84 - 999 +81 - Ace Attorney Investigations +34 - Golden Sun +11 - Trauma Center 2
Wow. Big upset. You can make a case for there being two upsets.
Star of the Round: Contra 4. I kind of expected Devil Survivor to thrive in a setting like this, but Contra 4? It struggled to beat Warioware Touched last round. Now it's beating EBA, 999 and AAI. What. It jumped out to a 30-0-0-0-0-0-0-0 lead and while it ran out of votes at the end, it still had enough to survive.
Turd of the Round: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors. Wow. 999 went from the fifth highest score to fifth place in a division. A lot of that was because its division was Pokemon and a bunch of weak games, but still, losing to Contra 4 and EBA? That's bad. I think a lot of people expected it to survive and left it alone. With a format as volatile is this, games need all the support they can get. I wouldn't be surprised to see Phoenix Wright struggle in the next couple of days if people pass it up to support their lesser games. Let's see...
Thrilled that both TWEWY and EBA made the cut, although it's too bad 999 had to drop off in order to make it happen. AAI was an unfortunate but expected loss.

+108 Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney +101 Ghost Trick +81 Advance Wars: Days of Ruin +78 Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow +60 Kirby's Canvas Curse +50 Mario Kart DS +46 Dragon Quest IX +16 Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
It wasn't until the last vote that Phoenix Wright actually took the lead. Advance Wars took the early lead and then Ghost Trick took over about halfway through. Phoenix Wright finally blasted to first place on the last two votes.
The big match here was Dawn of Sorrow vs. Kirby's Canvas Curse. They were tied for much of the match until a +10 and a +8 for Dawn of Sorrow put it over. Now that Dawn is the last Castlevania game left, it can't be held down by bad matchups anymore!
Star of the Round: I dunno, probably Advance Wars. It gets lots of +10s which makes it really thrive in this format. I'll be curious to see if it gets outclassed badly next round.
Turd of the Round: Mario Kart DS. Everything else did alright. Mario Kart DS losing to Kirby's Canvas Curse is a little disappointing though.
I thought for sure it was going to get edged out because of how strong that division was. Sad to see AAI go, but at least EBA was the one to take its place.

+131 Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trials and Tribulations +116 Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story +98 Professor Layton and the Curious Village +87 Chrono Trigger DS +71 Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey +16 Animal Crossing: Wild World +16 Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass +5 Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon
There were only five games worth a damn here. If this field was more stacked then I expect Chrono Trigger would have been out. People generally like to give points to original games and SMT has shown that it will always get its votes from superfans. SMT fans will have to be content with Devil Survivor winning a competitive division outright.
Other than that, this was a boring division. PW3, M&L3 and Layton were in a division once before and finished in the same order. Round 2 is now over and we've got 16 strong games left.
