insert your consciousness into any universe (game, book, movie, comic) while putting your body into a sort of cryogenic fugue state which universe would you select?
Having spent the weekend watching the Harry Potter marathon on ABC Family, I think I would officially choose Harry Potter.

Nice choice.
other than my absurdly high chamces of dying in a colony drop its pretty good.
Yeah, it's not nice in a safe way, that's for sure. Still, piloting a Mobile Suit is definitely one of those "live damn dangerously" things that I'd probably get into anyway.

When you consider the other 'fun' universes, like HP to take the original example one thing you don't realize is that the wizarding life, especially as is portrayed in the books is not especially special for the average witch or wizard. Yeah we see the main characters have a blast and everything else, but the vast majority of them are just existing. And it isn't like they all had amazing storylines and JK simply didn't have time to write it. That is just more or less how things work. And many people finish their education and get a riveting job at the Ministry of Magic. Zzz... Yeah some people do awesome amazing things, but there is still a wizarding world you have to fit into and it's not all excitement and adventure.
Another one I personally would like would be DBZ. But if having DBZ-esque powers was the norm then that would be lackluster as well.
But in Pokemon everyone is on the same playing field. You get a starter and you do whatever you want with things from there. There are no apparent concerns for the travelling pokemon trainer. Wan't to catch 'em all? knock yourself out. Want to spend your time making a team of the 6 strongest? Go for it! Seemingly nothing to stop you from tackling the world in the way of your choosing.
Better than sitting through divinations with Trelawney and pretending to care for a passing grade, imho.
Harry Potter would be just like real life unless you're specifically a wizard. And even then you'd have to deal with the dangers of Lord Voldemort and his crew.
Ehh, the Pokemon world is infested with Teams (despite most of the members being incompetent) and legendary pokemon. Hell, even the normal pokes are dangerous by our standards.
On the other hand, unlike most topics of this type (live in a world, transport to a world, etc), this one says our consciousness... what the hell does this mean exactly?

I don't even understand how Pokemon fighting is tolerated in their universe. If you think about it, animals are essentially the Pokemon of our world. Dog-fighting rings are illegal, but two Arcanine owners can have them fight each other to the death.
Traverse Town? The town full of refugees fleeing from the Heartless scourge, and they STILL pop up in it? Don't recall any particularly awesome part of it either, danger aside.
