'Bout time. MK9 came out after Jill and Shuma and it's already got half the DLC characters out. Granted, that's also 2 characters, but that counts for more in a 1v1/2v2 fighter.

Shuma is widely considered bottom tier. Only think he has going for him is his assist (which is overrated) and anti Dark Phoenix level 3.

Jill's one of those "why bother, other characters do what she does better" characters,

Not that I follow the development of Jill strategies, but I think her level 3 could be used really well if people tried to learn how to use if effectively.

Worse Wolverine is more like it. She's just not worth the time and execution with Wolverine around. Why bother struggling to get 600 damage when Wolvie's day one combo does more, and why bother with her level 3 when you can learn how to Tornado/Fatal claw loop.

True that. Wolverine is stupid as hell in this game. He's the second stupidest Wolverine after the MSHvSF Wolverine. He pretty much makes the other rushdown characters besides Dante, Magneto, Wesker and Zero obsolete.

Wolverine can 80% you with absolutely no effort, and in this game, that matters a hell of a lot more than it should.

The only reason he hasn't phased out those other four is because Dante is can do pretty much everything, Magneto's the only rush down where extra effort pays off, Wesker is somehow MORE brain dead easy, and Zero makes blocking pointless since he can hit you from any of the four directions in an instant.

Also another thing they should change in SMvC3 is the damage scaling. Make attacks do less damage but not scale as badly. The weak but fast characters like Chun Li and Jill aren't viable since they have to do long combos and that hurts their already weak damage. While Wolverine and Wesker still are doing day one combos and working and Magneto can powder smack loop.

Yeah, I find that the damage is way too freaking high in this game.

Like, it's cool if Haggar can hit like a truck, and Hulk too to a certain extent, but Wolverine is a classic lightning bruiser.

Making the weaker characters do more damage isn't going to fix much besides Hsien Ko. The damage scaling is the problem. Even Thor who does huge damage get hurt by it badly just by using his c.m (his best normal unfortunately.) and his damage drops a lot because of all the hits it does. If Joe and Chun Li did only more damage they still wouldn't be able to compete with Magneto/Wolverine since they mulit hit so much it would scale them down.

In my honest, not to be taken as fact opinion?

- Far more boring to play and watch. Most of the damaging combos are samey and can tend to go on for a long time. Getting caught by a low light attack means a lengthy combo and 50+% of your life.

- Which wouldn't be an issue if all of those combos weren't incredibly easy. The learning curve is lower, which was a good idea, but now it takes so much less talent to even perform what would be considered a BnB it's barely the same game.

- X-Factor is completely ridiculous, lasts way too long, boosts attack way too much. While the idea of a comeback mechanic was interesting, it also takes away a lot of the excitement because everyone knows a comeback is possible if X-Factor is still out there.

- Phoenix being the least fun character to ever be designed in a fighting game, I shouldn't have to explain why.

X-factor is the only real problem.

You don't give a Cancel a Damage and Speed Boost with no drawbacks, that's absurd. Then there's the other things that make it even more DERP, most specifically the length

I was already laughing at it before the game even came out when I read about the boosts. Didn't even know about the Regen, Flipping the bird on Scaling, no chip, or length then.
