Professor Layton's plots must be enjoyed like a Michael Bay movie.

Haha, this is an excellent way of putting it. Still, even in a series known for its bizarre plot lines, PL3 manages to surpass the others in craziness in a way that even Gary Busey admires.

As far as the plot twists go,
Layton 2 > Layton 1 > Layton 3

Hrmmm...I'd say 1>2>3. 1 and 2 were pretty close though for me.

And then Luke was like, "This **** is ridiculous, a time machine would have actually made more sense."

And then Professor Layton took off his hat and pooped in it?

That is the only way the game should have ended after Layton proposed his theory. And the strangest thing is that the terrorist guy destroys like a quarter of the city, kills I don't know how many people, and at the end everyone is mad at the Prime Minister for making him sad when he was a kid.

Eh...I didn't think the first two were that terrible. Sure, they were totally implausible, but I don't remember thinking "this is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard."

And yeah, the puzzles are solid. I just thought the puzzles in 3 were the worst group of the bunch, so while I still sort of like PL3 I didn't like it that much. Sort of just "decent" or "pretty good" to me.

Yeah, they definitely weren't as bad as 3 but they weren't exactly good either. A lot of people say that PL3 had an amazing plot(I'm not kidding) and that the ending was very emotional. I just...didn't see it. I like the characters, I like the series, but I was having too much problem with...

DIng ding ding! The puzzles were absolutely trash. I don't mind visual novels, but if you're going to try and include some gameplay with it, then you need to make sure it is good. All of them were way to easy, even if it weren't for the fact that the supporting cast always basically tells you what to do. Every time I got to another room I just wanted to rush through everything to get back to the story.

The sudoku puzzle of doom was absolutely hilarious. As was Akane freaking out like she had never seen a sudoku puzzle before.

The story, while not terrible, was also a bit too convoluted for my liking. Needlessly so, at times. When you have to set up an entire website to answer everyones questions about your story, you've most likely done something wrong.

3 was so much better than the first two because of how ridiculous it was. Even the emotional portion was better because it was about Layton himself rather than some other characters I don't really care about.

It actually makes a lot of sense that she didn't know what a sudoku puzzle was.
