I understand it means using like savestates and stuff, but something like that only helps in saving in places you shouldn't normally be able to save, right? For instance, Half-Life 2 Done Quick ) is a TAS, but I've watched it, and it's a great watch, but that's because a lot of the tricks are cool, and then there's the aiming and shooting in a split second and killing tons of enemies. So do they use like tools to assist them in aiming and such? I don't know what all the tools are that they use, and I want to know, since I can't tell when something is skill and when it's just the computer or whatever playing the game for you.

Slow down is used a lot too. There's a lot of pixel perfect stuff.

There's also other things such as memory/rng fixing where they do something specific in order to break the memory addresses.

Wait, how can the HL2 Speed Run be a TAS-run? It's on SDA, and they don't allow TAS-runs on their site.

That was the one exception they allowed, I think, because it was so popular.
