I took it. I think it depends on the teacher, honestly. Our teacher wasn't very good; he was new, so I guess his first few years are gonna be rough. But yeah, I didn't do very well. I got a 2 on the AP test (the only AP test that I ever failed). My performance shouldn't reflect on you, though...history is, by far, my weakest subject.

That's not something anyone here could answer for you. It was my favorite AP class in high school thanks to the teacher, but every single high school class is 95% based on the teacher.

It was my favorite class for a while in high school. But we distracted our teacher easily and out of the 11 of us only me and my friend got 4's while everyone else got 3's.

I ended up doing World History on my own 2 years later and got a 5 after studying for only a semester. It was a lot easier though, some of the essays in US can be killer.

In mine, we were forced to read Howard Zinn.

You can guess how much I enjoyed that.

If you're taking it because you like the history of the United States and/or the teacher, **** yeah, go nuts. If you're taking it because you're trying to be studious or raise your GPA or whatever, get the **** out. When I took it, I knew I didn't really like history, but I figured it would be easy and it would look good trying to get in to college. I hated the class, the teacher sucked, lots of reading (or it felt like it back then, after graduating from university, it may not feel so bad in comparison).
