We did recently hire the editors from Engadget, and he talked about how my position as SEO Manager would not only include the sports side of things, but it would be one team that crossed over into tech and things like that. So it's a huge vertical position with insane room for growth. Talked about how they wanted to promote from within, and I fit that bill. And there was a huge chemistry there, which is great, because I'd be working directly with him. And we covered a lot of stuff, and talked about my music magazine I used to have and how that helps things as well. Then the awesome news: talked about relocating me to Washington, D.C. with a great enough pay to more than cover the cost of living there and I was soaring. I don't know if I have it yet, but I feel incredibly good about it. I've actually had a couple offers that can be considered better than what I'm doing now (on the level of Danny going to FO), but I've turned them down to stick with SB Nation. I really don't want to work for someone else (although I am right now) and am planning on starting some sort of website (I actually have an idea). But I have to learn how to build it. I can crush the market that I'm gonna be in and hopefully make $10K+ month doing this.
