time to never use kotaku again. i've heard good things about giant bomb, i guess i'll try them. the only reason i used kotaku was because of the sheer simplicity of navigating the site. i guess giantbomb has something sorta like it.

Yeah, I was only still using Kotaku becasue the Canadian site had a non-awful layout, but now I guess it's time to switch to Giant Bomb or Siliconera or something. >_>
SHINE GET 64 posted... really? I've been using the US one just fine for months now. It's not really a big deal anymore outside of the 1st day it happened
the site loads soooo much slower and half the time their embedded vids/pics don't work for me.

And i'm not one of those people who instantly react to site changes with disdain. i've always liked new GameFAQs site layouts more than the older one, and I frequently welcome the changes facebook makes. This isn't me hating the new gawker layout because it's different from what I'm used to. I legitimately think it's a bad enough layout to warrant me jumping ship.

giantbomb is amazing for what they do, but they don't cover every bit of gaming news out there like kotaku does. people say joystiq is a semi-decent alternative to kotaku, so you guys might wanna look into that.

Stopped using Kotaku a little while after the first switch...it really is awful. Kotaku was kinda nice for the sheer amount of news they covered, even if some of its writers are douches (Luke Plunkett).

I switched to joystiq when the new gawker layout went live. it's awful and doesn't load on my blackberry. I never really enjoyed the kotaku writers, either. joystiq is more professional.
GiantBomb's news section has really picked up ever since Patrick Klepek joined the site, and Alex moved to New York. It's still a small scale outfit, but Klepek researches his articles very well, and has written some insightful pieces since joining the site. GiantBomb is still about video and presenting the consumer with as much information about a product as possible, but they seem poised to become the best news site out there in a few years if they continue to grow as they have.
