Communism = Everything that is wrong in the world.
Communist = Someone who supports Communism.
As George Bush said in 2000: "When I was coming up, it was a dangerous world, and you knew exactly who they were. It was us versus them, and it was clear who them was. Today we are not so sure who the they are, but we know they're there."
With the collapse of the Soviet Union and China's conversion to capitalism in everything but name, communism had to take on a new meaning or else become irrelevant. And we can't just retire a word that had represented the national enemy for 50 years that easily!

Fair enough, but I don't see why Communism would have to become a synonym for socialism (which is the way Muffin uses it). Because we already have a perfectly fine word for that belief system, namely "socialism."
Muffin sees the world in black and white. There's us, and there's them. If you're not with us, then you're against us, and if you don't agree with "us" then you must be against us.

red sox is NOT describing my views correctly BTW, but he's a million times less insulting and patronizing than anyone else around here, so I suppose I should just shut up and take it?

You and I are more alike than you realize, just as a note. I know all about stuff like the global government, fraudulent carbon taxes and global warming being a hoax, and the USA's empire-building. The difference is I know how to debate these items without coming off like a bigot. Not saying you are a bigot, you just come off like one because you're terrible with words.

If you think global warming is real and Al Gore is an upstanding fellow with no ulterior financial motives in all this, I have a bridge and some oceanfront property to sell you.

It stopped having a useful meaning when the Soviet Union pretended they were communist and not a totalitarian regime. It was used incorrectly then and it's laughable how they use it in the US now.
Yes, the quality of living in Zimbabwe has everything to do with capitalism.
actually, the quality of living being so **** in africa has a lot to do with capitalism.
in that our capitalism has resulted in the west exploiting africa for hundreds of years for cheap labor/it's resources while keeping all the money in our own countries.
