1984 was the original release according to Wikipedia. But I think that was in Russia. Don't think westerners even knew it existed like 1989 or something like that. Most people were introduced to the game when it came out on Game Boy

Was gonna go Yars Revenge, but that's 82. The 70s is very limited for decent games, and the only ones I can really say I still occasionally play have all been mentioned, except Galaxian. While I much prefer Galaga, Galaxian is still pretty fun.

Sidenote; kinda cool how video games, or computer games were being thought of as early back as the 1940s and the first game was in 1950.
