If Ethan could move why didnt he just leave with Chris? What was the point of him staying behind? The results would have been the same if he stayed behind or went with Chris. Maybe he could have actually survived if he went with Chris. He was sacrificing himself for no reason.

They could have a health written the ending for him to actually have a real reason to stay behind. It was just stupid

Nah. It was remote detonated. They could of blew that village up miles away because of that. The second part is all head cannon and wasnt explained in game at all if it was true

I guess? Since the explosion kills him Im not sure if that actually mattered. Now if the writing was done where it just hard focused on Ethan so the bomb will get maximum damage if he was close then sure. Wait that doesnt make sense either. The bomb as put directly on the things body so that doesnt matter either.

It was just dumb. Sure his body was falling apart but he could have at least try to see Mia again before he died. I really dont like it.

They should have just done the old "The detonator is fucked up and you have to be right on the bomb to make it go off" trick.

I would have been OK with this if the game actually indicated this. Instead, Chris said the chopper isnt far away. They also never mentioned the speed it was growing. The only indication we have of this is when the branches cut off Ethan from Rose and Chris which just happened to be very convenient story wise since he already decided to stay AND he stole the detonator from Chris. I still dont like it
