Used to think I despised kids, had the epiphany recently that the only thing I really despise is bad parents.

So yeah, I reckon I'd like to have a couple on the off chance I find the right woman.

I used to want kids really badly. I've shifted my stance a little over the years realizing how much I prefer alone & free time. But, I still wouldn't be opposed to it if a partner wanted one.

I'm not interested in having kids for economic reasons. I can barely afford my financial goals on the income I do have. I worry that I'll struggle financially even while single with no kids and I don't want to bring in kids in the world if I can't comfortably pay for them.

Kinda sad I suppose, but that's economics, the dismal science.

My girlfriend is in the 'kids soon' camp, whereas I'm in the 'kids eventually but I think I am still a kid' camp, so I'm sure we'll compromise somewhere and it'll happen in the next few years.

at this point, I think anyone having biological kids is irresponsible and a very ego-driven selfish thing to do, but I know that's just my opinion, and if people want kids, I still say you do you (and each other)

I've always never wanted kids to the point where it has caused break ups in the past (I was always 100% upfront from the start for the record). When met my wife I changed my mind from I never want kids to I'll have one eventually because she wanted one although still didn't really want one myself. I've recently mellowed more into I wouldn't mind one.

However, my wife has PCOS so it may never happen. Although when we went to the gynaecologist / fertility doctor they didn't seem remotely concerned and told us we didn't even have to rush to try have kids now and could keep waiting. My wife is probably 2-3 years away from wanting one but she seems to be fine with if she can't have one then it is what it is. I've tried to suggest escalating her timeline and looking into options now just in case but she doesn't seem concerned. If we never have kids I'd be fine with it but I want to make sure she's fine with that too as a worst case scenario for her.

Having 2 siblings much younger than me has taught me that I do not want kids. I don't have enough emotional energy for them and I'm not willing to make all the financial sacrifices necessary.
