I live in Texas so we don't really have passenger trains. But watching videos makes me want to do a train ride. No where I wanna go in particular, just wanna spend like a week in a train.

I always wanted to travel by train like in the old movies where they had sleeper cars. I don't know if I could actually rest though. The only real train I have been on was one that was a dining train that took you through some scenic areas as you dined.

Maybe you aren't a true train enthusiast, but people like that exist and would take the same trip for the same reasons.

Supposedly but I can honestly say I have NEVER seen a passenger train any time in my life on any of our tracks.

Trains are pretty fun. I've never had the opportunity either for a long train trip.

I've also always kinda wanted to take a long-distance train ride. That said, I wasn't so much a fan of the shorter train rides because the schedules made them a bit more of a pain on a day-to-day basis.

There's a reserve close by here that's still only accessible by plane or train, the train takes 6 hours.

Trains are great. I really wish they were more practical, but the only rail travel option around here is slower than driving and comparably expensive to flying, which means there's pretty much no reason to take it any further than the next province over.

It's not weird. I always opt for taking the train when I can. I've traveled across the country on the train. Been to Portland, Seattle, San Fransisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Memphis, Chicago, and New Orleans through train trips.

Texas does have Amtrak stops. I briefly gandered at the outside of the Alamo on an extended stop in San Antonio. Also stopped in Houston. I was looking forward to getting some allegedly amazing tacos in El Paso, but I got kicked off the train in the super small town of Alpine because I was smoking weed at the smoke stop (only time it's ever happened in all my train adventures, but now I use a pen to be more discrete).
