The atmosphere wasn't nearly as good and it's where the game goes full action TPS. I get the inclusion of enemies with long-range attacks as a way to up the ante near the end. But assault rifle and minigun wielding soldiers felt generic even back then. When the story of an RE game is coming to a head, there seems to be a ship involved towards the end or at least an aquatic area. And all of them are sub par. RE4 island, RE5 with Excella on that ship, RE7 ship area is the worst part in an otherwise amazing game. Hmm. But the military portion of the island? That's the absolute worst. I hate the military sections.
