Other way around. Prop 209 prohibits use of affirmative action for hiring in the public sector by not allowing race to be considered. Discrimination is still illegal. Essentially repealing this would mean cops might be required to hire more POC officers.

Well as a minority. To me its an insult to give me a job over someone else for no reason other then the color of my skin. Thats racist. I want the job i got because I earned it with my resume.

The idea is that they are adding regulation to dialysis clinics and its being pushed by an union. The cops are saying no to it because I guess they are pushing conservative ideals, so they dont see the need in adding regulation and risking clinics going out of business. The proposition also includes something about not discriminating based on patients insurance.

It is in a literal sense racial discrimination. You can argue it's good or necessary. (Which many people do). But yes, if you make hiring decisions based on race it is racial discrimination.

I think where you are getting tripped up is that you think "racial discrimination = bad" and "affirmative action = good" and thus you aren't looking at the literal meaning of the words and just their connotations.

Many many people are on your side, but it is still probably best to use words accurately when you can.
