Honestly, I've watched it, and it does seem kinda overhyped. Like the kind of thing you probably wouldn't play for long. Also, I had no idea Fall Guys was something that even existed until I saw all my Japanese streamers on Twitch playing it.

I've only seen very short segments as I tune in and see a streamer is playing it and leave, but it looks like basically a multiplayer platformer where the characters are really slow? I don't see the appeal.

That's also valid. If you don't like something, it doesn't make it bad. It just makes you bad at enjoying it.

but really, if you're someone who only likes games with a lot of depth, that's fine. But gatekeeping and thinking your word is final will never be a good look to others. It will always make someone come off as stiff. Fall Guys is a loose game that you sit around with a friend and laugh at each others shortcomings. It offers something you can't get from deeper games. The simplicity is the draw.

idk you seem to be putting words in tc's (or my) mouth. nobody said "simple games bad" (the only thing he elaborated is that fall guys ripped off another game or at least he believes so) and you can hardly call it gatekeeping or thinking his word is final when the title mentions it's just his opinion.

I guess I can accept that. Sometimes when something is used in the wrong way so much, I start reading it as not literal. So many people will use "Unpopular opinion" but then argue as if what they say is fact. But you're right, that didn't really happen here.

I see their input to the genre being that they made it massive multiplayer and elimination rounds format. Which are 2 of the biggest reasons it works so well. Games take pre-existing pieces and form a new product more than not these days. Barely anything is original these days. It's just a good combination of pieces or it's not. I do admit, I liked Death Stranding a lot, specifically because it had gameplay that felt way more original than everything else that size coming out. Regardless of if you thought it was good or not, it wasn't like everything else and that was appealing. But I can also appreciate these simple games that take pre-existing pieces and makes something that feels fresh even if it's recycled pieces.

Its a cute battle royale style party game that offers challenges with a subtle aspect of griefing and prestige for winning.

I havent played it, thats what ive seen. I have no interest but a friend wants me to play and a huge chunk of twitch is atm.

Because you guys spend every second analyzing everything and doing so makes you miss the obvious.

If a game makes you smile and laugh, it's fun. And that's what's important.

Doing what you guys do, analyzing every single hair follicle takes the fun out of everything. It's simple.

Also I hate fortnite. This is the first time that something popular (to this degree) is loved by me. Because I think Call of Duty and Fortnite pvp is crap. I'm glad people are having fun in something where you don't jump around like a moron and headshot which is all most people want to do on a console apparently.

The fun is important and I'm glad it's something new that isn't PVP based like everything else that's popular. Refreshing.

There is 100% a subset of people who get off shitting on anything other people like. They may not even try to enjoy it themselves, They will just attack it. You can see this in any popular videogame, and def on this site.

There were already guys in late 2016 saying dark souls was dead (after ds3 release) . its 4 years later and the game has always been active.

Some of these people dont even play games anymore, they go where other people are and bitch about a game they dont play. I am totally fuckin serious, seen it repeatedly.
