He's not entirely wrong. On paper, US presidents don't necessarily have as much influence as leaders in other countries due to the decentralized nature of the government. But on the flip side as we've seen, it's also not easy for other parts of the government to hold them accountable even if they do things they're not "allowed" to do.

The US president is not supposed to be powerful by design.
The fact that congress have given more of their powers to the presidency by allowing the president to enact executive orders was never intended. And if you cheered when Obama enacted EOs, but cry when Trump does it, or vice versa, shame on you. The president is not supposed to have that power. ... Copied to Clipboard!
