Why not? Its just become a group chat client essentially. none of the discords i'm a part of have anything to do with games. Its just groups of friends from various places.

Yeah this. Honestly I don't really understand why AIM had to be shut down, it was pretty dank.

Their parents house, their parents rules. My mother used to have a friend in the 1990s who was wheelchair bound and lived with his mom. His mom took his computer away for looking at naked ladies. The guy was like 25-30.

That's gross. These people pay rent and contribute around the house, right? They ought to be treated with respect. In terms of the wheelchair bound dude, I'd be worried about what the relationship dynamic is. Lack of family support can really trap a disabled person and make it hard if not impossible for them to live on their own depending on the circumstances.

Discord is actually very useful as a multi-use purpose. You can use it to voice chat with people but also use it as 'message boards' as well.

I use it for DnD since we have trouble with Roll20's voice options and then I also use the message functions for recaps and discussion between players when we're not in game.

From what I remember the guy basically gave his mother his entire SSI for room and board. It was barely $700 per month. I have no idea what happened to them.

My brother's ex-wife wasn't allowed to do anything when she lived with her parents and she paid rent. She was 24 or 25 and couldn't go out without resistance. She couldn't spend the night at my brother's home or go on vacation with him. Her parents let her younger brothers do whatever they wanted though.

No. I know 40-somethings who still get treated like they're 12 by their parents. They've been out of the house for years.
