I've been studying conspiracies for years, and there's one thing I always recommend that always goes above the heads of most on this site:

Store information as "tables" in your head the best that you can. Don't get attached to anything. Only insert facts, yes or no, into these mental tables.

--Who put the information out there
--When did the piece come out
--Who sponsored/hosted the platform from which the material was presented?

And you can rewrite your queries later:

--Who benefitted from putting this out there? Do they genuinely care, or does someone have dirt on them?
--Is the timing of this piece somehow relevant to getting ahead of a narrative?

Etc.

Thinking for yourself and not attaching to labels will make you an excellent conspiracy theorist because your analytical self won't have any preconceived notions to bump into. ("Hey, I'm a democrat/republican, that doesn't make sense!" --cognitive dissonance)

Users on this site have called me horrible things simply for talking about a letter of the alphabet, but I'm the nut job.

You write like reddit and memes had a bot child. You realize how big of a leap there is from hey lets ask questions to a singular person named Q is helping to disseminate high level government secrets?

Its easier for you to believe that a group of high level government officials killed thousands in an attempt to steal gold from under the WTC than it is to believe terrorists incorporated plane hijacking (which theyve done before) with taking down a building (which theyve attempted before).

Its not that people like me dont ask questions, its that we actually thought about it instead of believing a guy because he was able to start a YouTube page.

  • MK Ultra experiments turned out to be true.

  • The Dali Lama was paid millions by the US to disrupt Chinese culture.

  • Edward Snowden....self-explanatory

  • The real reason Anthony Bourdain killed himself was because Harvey Weinstein told him about his wife, Asia Argento grooming a 9 year old boy she work with on a film years ago, and maintained a relationship with until he was 16. He told him out of revenge for Argento pulling the trigger on the whole "MeToo Movement" against him.

  • The Gulf of Tonkin incident was staged so the US could start the Vietnam War.

  • During the 50s, cigarette companies convinced the public that smoking does not cause cancer.

  • Rachel Carson (who wrote "Silent Spring") was threatened directly by Monsanto, when she exposed the dangers of using DDT in public spaces. After Monsanto convinced the public that DDT was safe to use.

....when you speak about these things during the time it happened, back then you'd still be labelled as the crazy conspiracy theorists. The problem is, it takes years to prove it it's real.

Heres the problem. You interject truth (MK) with half truth (Dali Lama) and complete conjecture (Bourdain) alongside things that arent actually conspiracies.

Like I said, step one is losing rational thought.

You don't go deeper in conspiracy theories, because conspiracy theories are based on assumption, misinterpreted information and loose coincidence. There is no deeper to go, because generally if you do a bit of real research you will see it is just crackpot conjectures. If you try to point that out though, proponents will just say you don't want to dig deeper, when in reality the people who believe them full stop usually have lower intellect.

Your idea of "loose coincidence" ignores discrete structures, plausible suspicion, and "how many coincidences until mathematically impossible?"

Each conspiracy is unique. Some hold validity, others are completely moronic. It's a wide spectrum.

I'll always remember the people on GameFAQs who claimed that Nick Berg, the first US hostage beheaded in Iraq, was actually murdered by CIA agents in an American facility -- citing as their evidence the fact that in the video, Berg was wearing a prison-style orange jumpsuit: a jumpsuit that his American captors, these black ops experts, had clearly forgotten to take off before filming his execution.

That's the level of braindead stupidity I've most often seen from conspiracy theorists. There's being open minded, and then there's being so open minded your brain actually falls out of your fucking head.

Y'know, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that a lot of idiotic conspiracy theories are deliberately being pushed as a kind of white noise, with the intention of discrediting genuine scandals exposed by whistleblowers... In other words, your belief in conspiracy theories might be part of a conspiracy!

I'll admit the Bourdian story isn't confirmed, but there's a lot going on in that story that very makes it very plausible. When you look at the sequence of events from when Wienstien got charged, the moment the MeToo movement trended, to when Bourdian killed himself, and the story of Argento's pedophilia appeared after.... especially in earlier stories about Wienstien when was quoted in saying that he has 'dirt' on many people in Hollywood; alluded to the notion that he could drop a lot of bombs if the trial moves forward.... It's a very very very VERY plausible theory, that Wienstien got his revenge on Asia for being the celebrity figurehead of MeToo....Bourdian's suicide was just collateral.

But "MK Ultra" is real, and the Dali Ilama is confirmed as well.

Now I'm not sure where you can actually say the others aren't conspiracies but you have to view those events in it's proper historical context.

Could you honestly believe, living in the 1950s, being told that smoking was "GOOD" for you; even by the Surgeon General (who was probably paid off by Philip Morris directly)..... only then lowly doctors are saying "Hey, we got people with lung cancer here, they got it from smoking!"..... but the "powers that be" are saying NONSENSE! And the America people in general are going "duhhhh, okay"....

Again, it's context. There was a time when EVERYONE thought smoking was harmless. But save for the few who actually proved it was bad. Those people at the time were shunned, and brushed aside for spreading "unfounded" facts, and dismissed as "conspiracy theorists".

Same with the Edward Snowden whistleblower. Everyone thought "Nahhhh, the America government doesn't spy on its people. Anyone thinking that is crazy and paranoid."......and now we know the truth, right?
