That's what you hope. The idea is that diseases that are more deadly typically don't have the chance to spread and so their genes are lost and unable to reproduce. Diseases that get more infectious and less deadly are more likely to allow carriers to continue functioning allowing them to come in contact with more people.

The problem so far with this is that COVID seems to have a super long latent period where you're infectious. If this continues but the deadlyness increases then you have a problem

It spreads easier due to having more spikes, but its not any different in how it affects people, which is good. The other silver lining here is that the mutated virus becomes the prevalent strain, so youre not dealing with two separate strains like the flu.

Haven't deaths continued to go down? Hopefully that's what is happening. I virus wants to spread, killing the host doesn't help it, so ideally it mutates into something that doesn't kill.

One of the reasons rabies isn't a big problem is it kills everyone who catches it within a few days. Animals too.

Fauci flip flops constantly. I think he just likes attention. Tbh idk what everyone's end game is. It keeps changing. If the virus becomes weak and doesn't kill people much anymore then what's the point of staying so shut down? I hate to go back to the flu but like we gonna just start doing that for the flu too? I thought the idea was this virus kills people at a much higher clip. But if the clip becomes similar despite not even having a vaccine then what the hell are we doing? Are we gonna really bust our ass and continue to put people's lives on hold so people don't get infected by a weaker virus that hasn't been killing much of late? I'm getting frustrated because the endgame keeps changing with this virus. And that's setting off troubling alarms for me. I feel like we are going to get into a position where the governments manipulate data to extend lockdowns. These people are some of the most corrupt fuckers on Earth. It'd be stupid to not think of the possibility. I mean look how they continue to do whatever they want but others can't. It's wild.
