One polling station for 600,000 residents in Jefferson country? Which coincidentally holds about half the states black population.

Theyre setting up November to be illegitimate so Trump can try and steal the election. Calling it now.

This is old news but it is still important news. I dont understand how its even legal. If all 600,000+ went to vote could they even get all their votes in?

Absolutely not. Lets estimate the polls are open for...12 hours. 8am-8pm. 600,000/12 hours is 50,000 people per hour for one poll station.

Also from what I read the other day Kentucky allows mail in voting so hopefully everybody requested a ballot.

But if they didn't because they thought they'd be fine to go vote in person and now it's too late...smfh Kentucky gonna Kentucky

Thatd be nice and all but the article mentions tons of people who were mailed the wrong mail in ballot with the wrong party affiliation.

I saw a much better reddit comment that had all kinds of links to various articles going through the entire process but I can't find it, here's one with a summery.

I know how this looks to people outside the state, but it really isn't as bad as it seems.
The state expanded mail-in voting to every registered voter and cut in-person voting to 1 location per county. This was done at the request of Democrat Governor Andy Beshear in conjunction with Republican Secretary of State Michael Adams for the safety of poll workers and voters. The Lousiville location has been open for early voting for over a week. This information was very heavily covered on the news, mailers were sent out to everyone to make sure that everyone knew how it was going to work.
The early/mail-in initiative has seemingly been successful. Ballots received by mail-in and early voting have already exceeded the total turnout in the two previous primary elections. Most of us that intend to vote, already have. I'm not expecting anything like what happened in Georgia.

All we had to do was call or go online to request a voter form. You just fill it out and sign the outside of the packet.

I believe Lexington only had Kroger Field to vote at and this was known for over a month.

See, even looking at it from a pandemic angle it doesn't make sense.
Cramming more people into one place and makingvthem wait exorbitantly long times together is worse than spreading them apart in several locations with less density and wait times.

Sounds like a reason to

A) Not gather as many voters as possible in one location

B) Make mail-in voting much more accessible and not demonized by the orange orangutang

Oh shit. Protests about voter suppression incoming? I hope so. These local governments have been getting away with so much for so long. A prime example is manipulating the county lines to influence voting outcomes

Yeah, gerrymandering is awful.

Honestly, modern American politics are all about suppressing as many voters as possible to keep certain teams in power. It's literally as far from trying to represent the will of the people as possible, and it's gross.
