Those are the big four, but which do you consider to be the next in line?

I'd probably swap Frankenstein for zombies.

Frankenstein('s monster) is kind big, but tends to be kind of retellings of the same tale and doesn't have the universal monster appeal of zombies.

This. I think Frankenstein has lost some of its popularity, since its been like 100 years since Frankenstein's monster got a good story.

We need more Mummy movies tho. The 2016 one with Tom Cruise would've been pretty good if they didn't awkwardly shove in a whole ****ing universe in the middle of the movie.

No way. Frankenstein's Monster is like the Mickey Mouse or Superman of monsters. He may have lost some of his power, but all of the creatures on this list have. Frankenstein's Monster is pretty much the go-to monster for all generic monster designs. If your cartoon or video game needs a random creepy monster, you go with the Universal Frankenstein Monster look.

I think it comes down to what time period you're going in and if you're going for a singular iconic character vs. just iconic monsters in general.

In modern times, I think that people would point to zombies over Frankenstein's monster 9 out of 10 times. Zombies have been big in pop culture for quite a while now. Of all time, it's definitely a lot closer, and in terms of classics, yeah, FM wins out.

Either way, zombies should definitely be on the board. They still have classic appeal in different forms of older literature, and they're a huge force in modern monster media.
