Ah yes, the protests against measures taken to stop the spread of a deadly disease, because the protesters wanted haircuts. That totally compares to protests of the ongoing killing of unarmed African Americans by police.

Not every country had stay at home orders and the stay at home orders were mostly abided by for the first couple of months. But that's not the point. The point is that the government doesn't have the right to tell you that you can't protest. It doesn't matter if the cause is stupid. It's part of your personal liberty and is enshrined in the constitution as something the government necessarily cannot take away from you.

Now, these protestors are fighting against police brutality and mistreatment of black people; an issue which does indeed seem to be exclusive to America. I don't give a fuck about Michigan. I don't live there. The protest being for a good cause doesn't matter in the slightest. What matters is that you a few weeks ago were saying, 'Oh they shouldn't be allowed to protest because its dangerous'. Now that same argument can be used to justify shutting down these protests. Guess what? That's a bad thing.

American citizens should have the right to protest regardless of the circumstances. It's one of the few rights we have that prevent our other rights from being completely destroyed. I'm glad there are people out there protesting for Floyd and I'm glad there were rednecks protesting the stay at home orders. I hope they both keep doing it.

And for the record, the pandemic aint gone homey. So if you thought it was 'dangerous' for the protestors to be doing it three weeks ago and that it's fine to protest now, that makes you stupid.

1. Because violence draws more attention than peaceful protesting
2. Just about everyone regardless of political alliance agreed that Chauvin deserved to be arrested, even people that usually side with cops
