Nah, this topic was, thankfully, aggressively anti-Dan last season. Whoever has the Troyzan alt was defending him a bit (not even sure if it's an alt anymore... there are three people I think it might be and none of them have a main anymore), but was swiftly shut down.

I'm rooting for Parv, but after her I would be totally down for Natalie returning. I don't care for the Edge, and so for the first boot to get back into the game, especially one who's had a twin sister who was first boot on their original season, is pretty wild.

It's a bizarre circle.

Not that anyone would care on Day 39, but days 4-6 is easily the hardest on EoE. No one to support you, knowing you're the first one out, not knowing what comes next, if you'll get any information or when.

I only really got invested in the Survivor fan community during the summer between Fiji and China, so I never paid too much attention to the promos. Even in this case, I only found out about it because I was informed of the spoiler by someone else scouring the promo for information.

I knew the Heroes vs. Villians boot order was posted on the internet back in 2010.

I also knew the TAR: All Stars (2007) boot order was posted on the internet - almost immediately back in 2007.

Sigh. Nothing on the internet is sacred and you'll always be spoiled by something.

Going into the finale, my preferred outcomes, in order from best to worst:

1. Michele - She has had a great story, she's a scrappy underdog, she has a fiery personality, she's funny, and best of all, it would really piss the casuals off to have the winner of their "GREATEST SEASON EVAR!!11!1!1!!" be the same girl they've raged about for five years, since she beat Aubry in Kaoh Rong.

2. EoE Returnee (Natalie) - Natalie is my second-favorite player ever, and she has been a beast and a star on Edge of Extinction. If she comes back to the game and wins, I would be so happy for all the reasons listed for Michele, pretty much. Plus, again, rage over an "undeserving" winner to the casuals' favorite season of all time.

3. Tony - Yeah, even someone as contrarian as me can't deny that, if Tony wins this season, I wouldn't be upset. It'd be predictable as hell, as the casual fanbase will obnoxiously praise WaW as the best season ever, leading the producers to learn all the wrong lessons and replicate WaW's flaws, just like they did in Cambodia. But still, Tony is a great character, and he'd certainly be a deserving winner, so yeah, no issue with him as an obvious winner.

4-7. EoE Returnee (Sophie, Danni, Kim, Yul) - All the older-school winners who only played the one time, ranked in order of how interesting I found them this season. They'd still make for satisfying winners for the same reasons as Michele/Natalie, but I'd still rather see Tony win than them.

8. Denise - I don't think ANYONE would really be happy to see Denise win, given that her post-merge has pretty much been all about being out of the loop, grumpy, and not putting a ton of effort in. However, on paper, she's won two immunities, played two idols, and got Sandra out...so she really SHOULD be getting more praise from the "BIGMOVES" people that are currently trying to remind us that, no matter how much he shit the bed this season, Nick is still a genius for the F12 vote in DvG. To see those people try to reconcile why Denise is different...it would be satisfying.

9-10. EoE Returnee (Ethan, Amber) - The two old-school players for whom this is their third attempt. Still satisfying, but not moreso than the majority of players still in the game.

11. Sarah - I mean, Sarah's okay. She's had her moments, and I think she's played well as Tony's partner. It'd just be a bit of a letdown to have her win OVER Tony at this point, because she has really been sandbagged as being little more than his extra vote.

12-14. EoE Returnee (Wendell, Adam, Nick) - We've now reached the point where I really don't want to see these people win. This trio is made up of the one-time returnees, which gives them an edge over the remaining EoE inhabitants, but I really don't want to reward someone from the thirties.

15. Ben - As a character, I think Ben has been great this season. But if he wins? Holy shit that would be unbearable. He does not deserve it, and while no one would be happy with a Denise win, literally NO ONE would be happy with a Ben win.

16-18. EoE Returnee (Parvati, Jeremy, Rob) - These are just a selection of characters who I think are already well-respected legends in their own rights. If we get a winner from EoE, it would just be more satisfying to see someone new make a name for themselves, you know?

19. EoE Returnee (Tyson) - What I said above, but with the added caveat that Tyson has already been voted out once, came back from EoE, and then got voted out a second time. He would be the most disappointing returnee of the thirteen.

20. (Sandra) - Just because I wanted to include her for completion's sake.

This season has been very up and down for me. I see it being touted as one of the best ever but haven't really managed to see that perspective myself. I have a hard time separating a season's overall quality from the performance of my favorites, and in this season, they all pretty much bowed out pre-merge.

Of the players still in the game, I'm all in on Michelle. I respect Tony's game and antics as a character but he's never been a favorite of mine. Still, I'd be satisfied with him as a winner. The other three still in the game were probably my least favorite coming into the season so seeing them in the finale is bringing back major GC vibes.

Of those on EoE, I'd be happy with any of the old-school players coming back into the game and taking the win. I'm rooting the hardest for Natalie though given SJDS is my favorite season and Natalie one of my favorite players. That and she was my pick in the office pool so I'd be taking home some nice $$$ if she pulls it off. Finally I suppose it wouldn't hurt for the first player being voted out to come back and win in the send that it would hopefully kill EoE for the foreseeable future.

This season has definitely grown on me over the last four or five episodes, pretty much from the moment Adam started obsessing over the podium it's been all uphill (with the exception of Sophie's boot episode which was abysmal). Definitely not one of the best of all time but I'll take it in the wake of the 30s.

11-20 somewhere, I think I'll be happy with any winner not named Nick, Sarah, or Ben to some extent, and even those three I'd be okay, I guess. Definitely favorites in Tony/Michele/Natalie/Tyson out of pure favoritsm.

Every season since Millennials vs. Gen X. I like using the eras that Peridiam described in his video.

Okay, then in that case,

37 > 35 > 40 > 34 > 33 > 38 > 36 > 39

I still think Cambodia should be listed under the advantage era, since it's basically the same season, advantage-wise and twist-wise, as MvGX. So basically, I would say it's the past ten seasons. In which case:

32 > 37 > 35 > 38 > 34 > 40 > 36 > 33 > 31 > 39 (Until I force myself to rewatch it)

I'm of the weird opinion that 31 belongs in the current era but 32 belongs with 27-30. It was filmed before 31 and has more in common with the seasons that came before it. If they aired those two seasons in filming order instead of doing what they did, there's no question that the split would be between Kaoh Rong and Cambodia.

Man I'm still so bitter about the ending to 35. If that doesn't happen, Chrissy or Devon wins, Ben doesn't get the edit he got in the last three episodes, and honestly, it's probably a top 10 season. Never seen a season that good tank so badly in the home stretch before.
