Oh. Well in that case, I would recommend against putting all your money in one stock. It's just unnecessarily risky, since you could put smaller amounts into several stocks and get virtually the same upside without the risk of losing all your money. Disaster can happen to any company, and the pain you will feel from losing 80k is much greater than the pleasure you will gain from winning 80k.

CORR (finance) and NRBO (pharma) went down big today. NRBO went down because it sold a large portion of its business to an investor for a lower valuation than expected. CORR went down because tenant responsible for 47% of its income suspended payments. If you think either will rebound then there ya go.

AKER continuing to hemorrhage

I know the theory is to just keep holding here cause I haven't lost this money till I sell, but in this volatile market should I just sell out and try to get my money back somewhere else? I'm thinking with these past few days being so down for the market I could drop it somewhere else and make a decent chunk back...

I would say if you do that, make sure you already have a stock in mind to reinvest in. I agree that the market will go back up in the next few days. Not sure how much AKER will compared to whichever stock you land on, though.

So, small note. The treatment side is redensivir I believe

I posted in a topic off these like a month of two ago that redensivir was seen to be the most effective drug for the Coronavirus. So, this isn't new.

There is a problem with that drug though. I mentioned it then. The drug requires early usage...the earlier the more effective. And it requires an IV which is costly and takes up time. Thus, doctors didnt like to prescribe it's usage.

What is the consensus on what happens to companies stocks once their quarterly reports are released? Obviously investors know the earnings of just about every company is going to be down, but since people invest emotionally they tend to sell once the report is actually released. Wouldnt this knowledge compel you to sell / not invest in a stock whose company is about to release their reports?

I suppose the counter is as long as the company hits the marks that it was projected to (taking coronavirus into consideration) then the reports shouldnt cause a stir.

I think AAL is in a week. If it rises a bit because people feel confident in treatment/vaccine, it'll probably take a hit next week and come back down to this level. I think Q2 is the real concern to me - I worry that airlines and cruises will effectively be flat between now and then. Some banks will suffer (and already did their Q1 calls).

The stir the reports cause is like "What did the company do in order to keep itself afloat, and, how many months will that last". For instance, now you have a reasonable idea what CCL's valuation would be a year or two out, assuming a vaccine and customers returning later this summer.

looking at hopping into SBUX, more into BRK.B and BK personally. I'll wait a week until doing anything more with airlines and I feel like I'm just out on cruises because I don't have the stomach for it lol. Yesterday I went into ABBV a little bit. They still have the humira patent and they have a lot of other things going on - maybe sell that in a year or two so I don't have to keep paying attention.

and rule 1 is like, you have to hit on 74% of your peaks/valleys to beat an idle account. Like I moved out of TSLA and off of things yesterday morning and I'd be up if I just left everything alone. so I don't really know anything. this is just an easy time to make gobs of money short term and long term. I feel like medium term is a big ????, which means I'll trickle in extra funds every week I guess.

I only have BK now because their Q1 investment fees are up and they won't be hit hard by the mortgage defaults that will be coming this spring/summer. I bailed on WFC after touting them for so long, as I think it's going to be flat for a while. but again I don't know and I possibly missed out to invest in Starbux which has less room to grow I think.

I think the banks as a whole tend to be good companies - for instance, JPM and WFC are fine stocks to own, just have to deal with a health crisis that has significant financial impacts. There'd be nothing wrong jumping on a good bank stock and reaping the rewards long term. You may have some red days in the next 6 months and some FOMO of not buying at their lowest number, but buying any of it at a discount is a great thing to do.
