What gets me is why everyone is so sure Ben's role doesn't exist yet it was enough to get people to stop voting Ben when it was claimed?

Like if you think it's a lie why aren't you voting it back then?

This was before we figured out that everyone, except allegedly Ben, was Vanilla. That reveal absolutely changes the context of the claim.

I feel like the claim is MORE suspicious without knowing there are a bunch of renamed vanillas not less.

Like I'm not feeling that thing as a primary or secondary protective role makes sense if we have traditional roles in the game. Having a ghetto doctor as a stopgap makes sense if you have to unlock the normal protection though.

I mean, you never know. Also I'm used to two protection and since i'm specifically not a doctor I assumed I was the weaker protection. Claiming anything different just seemed too dangerous.

Honestly don't know how I would have felt as scum in the same situation. But i seriously doubt I'd resort to suiciding by claiming power. I probably would have tried to play dumb and confirm myself vanilla on day 1, much like IGCD. That was such a me move.

Alright so I laughed at your gotcha there because it was funny and I felt it but after the snap reaction it's not really fair. Like putting aside what Scare said about setup knowledge if I saw IGCD do something I thought I'd do as scum that doesn't automatically become a tell from him because we are very different players, you know?

1. IGCD's only post pre-princess was shading Hb for fake anger, odd bus move if true
2. Ben not knowing the show but coming up with this specific fake claim seems far-fetched to me, and also while he hasn't had his best game his sheeping of me and defense of me is consistent with previous town games from him and not consistent with previous scum games
3. In hindsight and a clear mind, IGCD's interactions with Lea did not at all feel like scum/scum, especially on IGCD's side. He felt really bothered.
4. Death telling IGCD to ask the host about his claim is far fetched to be from a scum buddy
5. IGCD called Death's comment a "little drive by", which I think was scum being overly defensive from town inquiries into his claim.
6. Sultan Shaded HB early as well, which would mean both known scum were throwing fuel into the leading lynch at the time, unlikely to be scum buddies.
7. For Sultan he shaded Sbell but reverse course when Sbell called him out. He was shading corrik but reversed course when it was pointed out that he didn't claim miller. He voted Scare day 2 but he never had any sort of actual talk with Scare to unvote him, just without a conversation voted for Lea and his vote never returned to Scare despite some weak shading the rest of the day
8. Sultan said "Mzero hasn't posted" but a post later ASKED if Scare had posted. We were only one topic in at the time he said this, it feels like he knew very well Scare had said something but wanted to appear less sure than he was. Kind of like how I thought his take back of Sbell was forced.
9. Scare LIKED Sultan's content early.
10. Death posted language about if IGCD's claim was true, and he conceded it likely was, flavor claiming might be a bad idea. Very unlikely this is scum-scum as they are unlikely to give cautious advice.

I have more but needless to say Scare is scum.

Also I saw your post about a weak poke, let's go to my LONG FORM thought on that:

"Now what is interesting from Sultan here is his other thoughts on the game (Sbell and Corrik) he had to be told directly "hey not great" and Sultan responded to them directly and discussed it. When Scare says it was a weak poke Sultan just ignores it. Will monitor this but this looks very bad for Scare given how Sultan has interacted with known towns."

But as someone who is considering the possibility that Scare is scum today, largely BECAUSE of today meaning that list is likely to have things I hadn't considered, can you keep going?

off the top of my head I WANT to say it was because I liked the interactions with him and IGCD because I bought the shit out of IGCD as town at the time

We continue

1. IGCD, in his last act before corrik's untimely demise, voted Ben fairly late into the day over Lea. I think this decreases his scum equity.
2. Sultan opens day 2 with much concern about Scare and the Death train. To me the concern over the Death train felt like a way to target town in hindsight as it featured red, lea, myself, and ben. I think it was a target of opportunity and that death is town. Ben follows up with asking him "Why was the train weak to you?" which I like for Ben as well.
3. He mutters about Scare some more and then votes him! Sultan reads Lea's day 1 and leaves with an unfavorable opinion. Scare calls this poke weak. When he unvotes Scare without really hashing it out with Scare he votes Lea, which I think looks great for her in hindsight.
4. IGCD has a couple posts about what we should do if we end day early by killing off Lea. Wow. That is some cold-blooded stuff from ICGD about Lea. I provided a translation to one of the posts in how I read it: "let's get this murder of town Lea on the road, I've got things to do.
5. Sultan returns and asks what people think of alternatives for a Lea lynch, but doesn't mention his old nemesis Scare. Asks about Red (town) or Mzero (town.) Finally he says scare and MAYBE Mzero. Note: He never votes Scare again
6. HB comes in with the "time to Hammer Ulti I guess" and this is besides the point but I just don't WANT HB to be scum, that made me smile.
7. Sultan asks Scare if he has anything to say. Scare gives an answer about sheep. Sultan doesn't challenge further.

I then have a hilarious exchange that I think if you are sane is obvious I am town but that's beside the point for now.
