Berseria > Vesperia* > Zestiria

Fairly big gaps between each.

*I haven't gotten around to playing the Definitive Edition yet so I'm technically ranking this based on the 360 original. However I feel very confident in saying that even with the added content it doesn't come close to Berseria which is in the running for best Tales game period. But keep that in mind.

Vesperia is the most "complete" game in the series but unless you're completely new to Tales or have only played Symphonia or Abyss, the gameplay is going to feel very underwhelming for 80% of the game. The story's kind of all over the place, too.

Berseria has arguably the best cast, one of the best stories, killer gameplay and is really only kind of held back by its lower budget.

Zestiria is Zestiria.

Berseria > Vesperia > Zestiria

Arise will hopefully be the best of them all when it maybe comes out this year.

god this was so annoying. I guess the delay between Zestiria's western success and Berseria's development was long enough to not have any effect, and it seems like they're really improved on this for Arise, so we'll finally have something to show for the ridiculously good sales Tales has received since releasing their games on PC same day as console.

Berseria is the best Tales game on any console. Awesome protagonist and the story takes risks I never expected to see from a Tales game.

Berseria (gap) Vesperia (large gap) Zestiria

Vesperia I feel edges out Berseria, but that's more just a general Team Symphonia Holy Trinity being better than what came after, and that's more systemic [such as TP > CC] than anything else.

Berseria godstomps Zestiria.

Zesty is a legit bad game. Like, Symphonia Dawn was not good, same with Tempest and Legendia, but Zestria is outright bad.

Im think I have about 5 hours left in Berseria and I would really recommend it. Its just as good as FFXV, DQ11 and Persona 5 IMO.

Vesperia might be the most forgetable RPG Ive ever played. You know its strange when I dont remember anything about the plot except that Yuri is a cool main character and Judith is hot, and I beat this game in 2016 so it hasnt been that long.

I havent heard much good about Zesteria, but Berseria is so good that I might give this game a try.

Vesperia kind of shocked me by how middle of the road it was when I played the definitive edition. It's still good, but it has so many flaws. I remember it being a masterpiece, but...time does what time will. I think a lot of the rose glasses on that game are around Yuri being such an amazing protag, though Velvet easily matches him in Berseria, if not surpasses.

Berseria I've played 4 times and could easily boot up again right now. Best game in the series.

Zesteria is hilarious. If someone tells you Zesty is good, that's the Tales equivilant of a Prequel Trilogy apologist.

Vesperia is at its most fun towards the end (because the gameplay actually does get really good once you have everything, not because of the story lol) so I think it's easy to remember it being better than it was.

Was still rough playing the DE when it came out and seeing how limited combat was for the majority of the experience after games like Graces, Xillia and Berseria had all come out in between.
