Something more engaging than an idling game, but with lots of staying power

...like Binding of Isaac when you're not going for achievements

The game of sleep.

idk, I never stop thinking, i'm a thinker, probably why I developed getting anxiety attacks.

Alternatively, I'll take a game that uses MORE brain, as long as it's constructive stuff like math/spelling/trivia/Brain Age on DS

Exercise.

That's one of the reasons I've been asking for exercise machines (that are easily storable in small apartment)... when I exercise with free weights I have to think too much on maintaining form whereas on a machine I can turn my head off

Do squats crunches bicycle kicks and pushups. Even a medicine ball helps.

I should just walk over to my parents place and use the dang eliptical...

...

Do they make a, like, Stairmaster that folds up small enough to fit under a bed/couch?

If ya have a local building with a stairwell go with that. While climbing keep your shoulders over the hips and hips over the ankles. Try not to lean too far forward as it will decrease muscle activation. Remember push off with the ball of the foot to target the quads and place more weight on the heel of the foot to target the glutes and hamstrings. Stay off the ball of the foot to decrease knee stress. Eventually try taking 2 stairs at once. Probably would help your joints long term if the stairs were sorta padded.

Personally my go to is Bloons TD 6. Its a little involved at first, but once you get the hang of it you can do almost all the maps without really thinking.

Kingdom hearts 3 will really dumb your brain down. Every one is saying to exercise but lifting heavy weights will be better if you can work your way there. Learn your limits. I sleep terribly without enough time. snoring and turning. I can lift a 5 gallon bucket all the up but that doesnt mean I can lift a bucket 6 feet high.

Honestly, the original Super Mario Bros is my go to "pick up and play for a bit to take my mind off stuff" game. It really is a testament to how well that game was designed that it's still fun to play over 30 years later.

Minecraft. one of the many reasons it's so good is that at any given time it's as easy or hard as you want to make it. hang out in your home all day carpeting the floor or hollowing out a basement, or if you want a challenge go find a ravine or take a trip to the nether.

I'm back to Star Trek Online. It's just nice to zone out and take 30 minutes to cylce through my 30 Pylon's ASS screens, maybe do an TFO or two (but they give no real rewards when your main has tens of thousands of marks / unrefined dil).

Completing the minimum number of rounds on each map, maybe. Getting to really high rounds takes more thought than that

Yes this exactly. Same with Terraria as long as you know what you're doing.

Sports games are usually my go to. If I wanna try less, I pick myself a good team, but otherwise I can play most without having to try too hard.

The Tony hawk games are great for just skating around. Maybe try to find your own combo lines. France in Tony Hawk 2 is an awesome level to try to grind around and do in one combo.

My girlfriend loves simple phone games like bejeweled, boggle and lately solitaire. I just see her tapping all the time (since you don't need to drag) and I can only imagine how much time she's put into solitaire. It kinda blows my mind cause she doesn't like video games.

I just got wheel of fortune for genesis and I feel like it may be good a brain dead game. It's clearly a mediocre game, but it still is hangman/wheel of fortune at its core.
