So Gamestop has Buy 2 Get 1 Free on pre-owned games right now. My local Gamestop has the following in store and I have a decent chunk of points to spend. Pick 3 for me.

Smash Bros Ultimate
Mario Kart 8
Pokemon Shield
Xenoblade Chronicles

Since they are all $55 pre-owned, tyring to maximize the 'freebie' game.

Or recommend another high end game that might work too.

EDIT: They do not have Zelda which would have been one of my first picks.

I assume by Xenoblade you mean Xenoblade 2 if we're talking pre-owned? It's the only one of those 4 I've played but I'd imagine it'd make the list - just 100% get the Torna DLC for it.

If it somehow is the original then pass because it's getting the definitive edition soon-ish

Edit: Oh, you're opening this up? I'd definitely put Fire Emblem: Three Houses on there if you haven't played it.

When I was in the store there was no negative comments about Pokemon but there was about XB2 so I ended up going with Mario Kart, Smash and Pokemon. As soon as I got back in my car and checked again, there were negative comments about Pokemon but little too late at that point.

They did not have Stein's Gate for the record. I didn't see those comments before buying but I'd have picked it up and checked it over for sure if I saw it.

I guess Pokemon is unlikely to drop in price at least whereas Xenoblade 2 I can see online new for $50 right now.

I also picked up Tales of Vesperia (Switch), For The King (Switch) and Shenmue 1/2. I already own Vesperia on PS4 but it's for the missus and she is far more likely to actually play through it on Switch than PS4. We may do a joint run where I play through PS4 and she does Switch

same, neither of those bother me. i've also only played rby/gsc and sun/moon and wouldn't call myself much a fan of the series.

for some reason i found pokemon shield really shallow. something about it just felt low quality. i can't say i felt the same about sun, but then i hadn't played a pokemon game since gen 2, so maybe the newness was there. with shield, it was not. it was really old really fast.

Well I guess I should play through Shield quickly and trade it in. How long can a Pokemon game be. If guess not very!

i've put over 200 hours in. it's a fun game with a lot to offer.

if you just want to rip through the story and don't care about breeding / battling / collecting, you'll probably find it shallow though

The amount of Pokemon it offers off the bat is crazy. I haven't even got to the first gym and I've caught almost 40 different Pokemon
