Like they went on PS2.

You'd think with the success of the GBA games they'd get a port.

Why would you port GBA games to the Gamecube when you got the GBA player? Also, the Gamecube did terrible saleswise, not a whole lot of games released on it.

Castlevania struggled with 3D really. Castlevania 64 and Legacy of Darkness were hit or miss, though they did find their base later. At the time of development for Lament of Innocence Igarashi probably wanted to go hard, and of the two consoles that were going to be viable at the the time PS2 was the better choice. That being said, Castlevania never caught as a 3D game, despite the reception 3D games had. They always felt better as 2D platformers, and while that was certainly well within Gamecube's reach, and considering how they could have done something like Dracula X Chronicles, which was a missed opportunity honestly, it was just accepted that the way to go was handheld.

In a way it's for the best that they didn't. I didn't play Lords of Shadow or the second, so I can't speak to that meaningfully, but I was given to understand the first was alright, but the second shit the bed.

That Konami just got out of the business of big development being the reason for it is a bittersweet reason for it, but the last thing I think we really need is more trend following. Plus like I said, the series never really made the 3D translation. I personally feel lukewarm to Lament of Innocence because it is what it is. The first time I played it I liked it a bit, but on later attempts I grew bored. Exploration wasn't really fun, and the combat got repetitive quick.

I mean we could ask for a Souls like Castevania, but you could just play Bloodborne and call it a day.
