Hadn't really thought about it 'till now.

I suppose the heavier or less evenly distributed the topping, the better it is on a thicker/sturdier crust, since I've had my share of thin-crust breaks from like chicken chunks too close together.

I get extra sauce, that's the only difference. Pizza hut doesn't add enough sauce

I just tried Little Ceaser's thin pizza. It was nasty. It tasted so different than the other 2 pizzas we bought

On a somewhat related subject, anyone else ever had thin crust pizza from a local place that served it in "strips" instead of slices?

NY style thin crust pizza is the best. It's all about the ratio between crust and cheese, and I like it to lean more towards the cheese side personally. I do not like my crust too crispy though, I like a little give, a decent amount of sauce, and enough cheese to give 3 healthy men heart attacks:)

Oily toppings like pepperoni or sausage are always risky on thin crust unless you really know your oven. There's nothing worse than soggy thin crust pizza.

If you want the crispiest, thinnest pizza you've ever seen and you happen to be in the area of Fairfield County, CT stop by Colony Grille and Bar in Stamford, CT on Myrtle Ave.

I recommend a pepperoni, stingers, and hot oil despite my previous comment about oily toppings. They only make thin crust that a friend from out of town once described as a "giant cracker with pizza toppings", however they've been in business in one form or another since General George Washington acquired lodgings at the original inn that stood there for several nights.

They know their oven, it's considerably older than sliced bread, manned flight, the internal combustion engine, and the fucking telegraph.

It's not the most filling pizza, but I have yet to find anything like it anywhere else. A Stinger and a pitcher was the best hangover cure I've ever found. Don't even try going on a Friday or Saturday night unless you've got 2 hours to kill.

It may be cut differently due to the thin crust. Maybe the normal cuts are too thick. Or possibly because it works better. I dont know for sure, though...

Maybe, then. Well, the other way, at least. Maybe they named it something different because they liked the different cut.

Maybe most pizza places are just throwing jarred or canned jalapenos on their pizzas whereas Colony is cutting fresh ones...

Maybe. Though, maybe not. I mean, you wouldnt necessarily need to cut them different for them to be cut fresh, right?

Maybe, but I'd also imagine with a crust as thin as theirs that cutting them "normally" might cause them to shrivel up to nothing in the oven.

I really can't stress enough how thin, yet firm these pizzas were despite the weight of toppings.

That could be it, too. I think the toppings do cook a little different on thin crust...
