What an awesome show. I'm halfway through episode 2. I wasn't sold on the actor when I first saw him but he's great.

I hadn't heard of this. Is it a mini-series adaptation of the novel or a new take on the character?

I watched the first episode. Didn't know what it would be like going into it. I like the humor. The nun and Dracula are fantastic. Harker too.

I would say both from what I've seen. Does not follow the novel closely but it's clearly an adaptation of a sort.

I've seen like 10 different versions of Dracula. I really have no interest in another.

It's pretty different imo. Has a really matter of factness I appreciate. I thought it might be plodding but it's paced incredibly quickly and well.

I'd like to see a faithful adaptation of the novel. It really would be a labor of love at this point.

I think the late 70s / early 80s was the last time we realistically could have seen a faithful film adaptation. Universal opted instead for another adaptation of the play, but far more romantic than the 1931 version.

If anyone were to do a faithful film adaptation, Netflix would certainly be the place for it. Even if it were four hours long, you could watch at your own pace and with no sense of money wasted if you didn't like what you saw.

"3 eps" is a bit misleading since each are about the length of a movie. Could have just as easily been split into six 45 min episodes.

Sounds like the answer to this earlier question

is yes. Been awhile since I watched Sherlock but IIRC each season was three episodes, each about the length of a movie

Episode 3 is so tonally different, jesus. It's like I'm watching a completely different show. There is a narrative reason why though.

I'd never heard of the lead actor or actress before this show but like, damn they were good.

The 3rd episode was totally off the rails compared to the other two though.

Also it was kind of annoying how quickly they glossed over some stuff, like the second episode where they spend all of 5 seconds on the fact he had met the Duchess before at her birthday and had killed her mother, like why was he even there?
